Mary Sue Thompson/Goetz

Mary Sue Thompson (b 10 Jul 1935 -living in 2022). She married Donald Lee May (b 23 Oct 1932-d 8 May 1992) on 5 Nov 1952 in Terre Haute, Vigo County, Indiana. Donald was the son of Herbert Leslie May Sr (b 26 Jul 1909 -d 31 Mar 1982) and Thelma Louise Ryan
(b 1908 -d 17 Aug 1960 ). There were 4 children of this union:

  • Donald Scot May (b 16 Sep 1956-d 21 Jul 2015)
  • Linda Lee May (fraternal twin) (b 28 Dec 1959- living in 2022)
  • Lori Lynn May (fraternal twin) (b 28 Dec 1959-living in 2022)

Dona Lisa May Dona Lisa was born on 23 Sep 1955 and lived for a few days.  She died on 27 Sep 1955 from a collapsed lung and cardiac arrest.  She was buried in Roselawn Cemetery in Terre Haute, Vigo County, IN.

Donald Scot May (b. Sep 16, 1956-d. 21 July 2015). Born in St. Anthony’s Hospital in Terre Haute, IN. Graduated from Terre Haute North Vigo High School. Worked at Columbia Records, General Housewares, Evergreen Express Mail Service, and Prairie Group Concrete. At Evergreen Express Mail Service at Hulman Field in Terre Haute, Scot was employed as an airplane parts warehouser. He was responsible for shipping and receiving parts and keeping an inventory of the parts. Scot now works (1997) for Prairie Group Concrete. He lives in Terre Haute, Indiana at 131 Jackson Blvd. 47803. He married Jackie Kay (Swiger) Carson (b. 1951-d living in 2022) daughter of Thomas Swiger and Patricia Walters. Donald Scot and Jackie had 1 child. Later divorced. Donald Scot was awarded custody of child.

Update: Scot was forced to stop working due to complications from Limb Girdle 1D, dementia and diabetes. Before the onset of dementia, he contributed many hours researching the May Genealogy that his father and sister had been working on. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side, with Beatles music playing.

    • Andrew Scot May Jr (b. 20 Jul 2007-living in 2022). Andrew was born in Terre Haute, IN at Union Hospital.

Linda Lee May (fraternal twin) (b 28 Dec 1959- living in 2022) Linda was the first born of twin girls at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Terre Haute IN. Graduated from Terre Haute North Vigo High School in 1978. Graduated from Indiana State University in 1983 with a bachelor’s degree in business. In 1986 she was promoted to manager of the Terre Haute “Foxmoor Co.”, a clothing store for ladies’ apparel. In 1987, Foxmoor promoted her to manager at a larger store in Indianapolis, IN at Castleton Square. In 1989 Linda left Foxmoor and returned to college to get her teaching degree and master degree. She received her license to teach business and vocational education in 1991. While attending college, she worked in the Uniform Price Code office for the Terre Haute Walmart store and occasionally returned to the store to help during peak seasons. In 1993 she completed her master’s degree in Business Instructional Systems and Business Training from Indiana State University. She has taught management and marketing classes at the Terre Haute Federal Prison for Ivy Tech; computer courses for Indiana Business College, and currently (1997) will be starting her fifth-year teaching computer courses and computer programming for Edgewood High School in Ellettsville, IN. She resides in Terre Haute and commutes to Ellettsville. Linda has a great love of animals and is constantly picking up strays on her drive home. She finds good homes for them with family and friends. Linda inherited Limb Girdle 1D from her father, Donald Lee May, but is otherwise healthy. Linda never married but was in a long-term relationship (36 years) with Donald Edward Corey (5 Nov 1950-d 6 Oct 2016), son of Paul Edward Corey and Norma Jean Stufflebean) until the time of his unexpected death on 8 Oct 2016.

Update: Linda retired from teaching at Edgewood High School in 2018. Difficulty from the disease, losing Don and raising Andrew Scot May Jr. alone was too much to juggle.  Andrew May Jr., moved into his dad’s home in August of 2022 to attend high school at Terre Haute South Vigo High School as  sophomore. 

Linda is currently volunteering her computer skills for an animal shelter, for the DAR, and works one day a week for Southern Care Hospice, in records management. Linda and Don rescued many dogs. She would have more if she had more room. She also continues working  on the May, Thompson, Goetz and Ryan genealogies.

Lori Lynn May (fraternal twin) (b 28 Dec 1959- living in 2022) was the second born of twin girls born in Terre Haute, IN at St. Anthony’s Hospital. Graduated from Terre Haute North Vigo High School. in 1978. Started work at K­MART and was promoted to department manager in 1986. In 1988 she moved to Coal City, IN. Lori was married 19 Apr 1994 in Paris, IL to Harry Anthony Hart (b. 15 Apr 1953 -living in 2022) son of Virginia O. McCready and John Hart. Lori battled breast cancer successfully in 1991.  She has not had a reoccurrence. Lori and Harry have raised Malamute puppies and have four dogs of their own. Lori works (1997) for Walmart in Spencer, IN as management support and Harry works in construction. No issue from this union.

Update: Lori suffered a fall off of her basement stairs in 20??. She broke her shoulder and her ankle. After 3 years of medical treatment, she can finally walk, but still has pain and cannot stand on her ankle for long periods of time. Her ex-husband Harry, moved into her house to help her recover. They both have remained good friends and Harry is considered part of the May family.
