He married 1st Ruby Doris Stewart (b 26 Jun 1909 – d 5 Feb 1998) in Terre Haute, Vigo County, Indiana on 29 Jun 1961 in Maricopa, Arizona. There were 2 children of this union:

Ronald Eugene Goetz (b 16 Nov 1933 – d 23 Mar 2013) was born in Terre Haute, IN to Earl Goetz (b 12 Aug 1909 – d 25 Aug 1973) and Ruby Doris Steward (b 26 Jun 1909 – d 5 Feb 1998). He served in the US Army from 1953-1956 and was stationed in White Sands New Mexico where he worked on guided missiles. He lived in Ardmore, Oklahoma upon his death. Ronald married 1st Lillian Joan Cleveland (b 25 Sep 1935 – d 21 Dec 2012) on 3 Jul 1954 in Terre Haute, Vigo County, Indiana. Ronald Eugene Goetz, 79, of Comanche, OK, passed away Saturday, Mary 23, 2013 in the Ardmore Veterans Center.
Ronald was born on November 16,1933, in Terre Haute, Indiana, the son of Earl and Ruby Doris (Stewart) Goetz. He served as the president and treasurer of the Eagles Lodge in Glendale, Arizona; the President of the Comanche Chamber of Commerce; and was on the Comanche City Council. He was the author of two books, “The Kid” and “The Kid from Lincoln County”, both historical fiction about Billy the Kid. He enjoyed his family, hunting, fishing, panning for gold, collecting rocks, his dogs, reptiles and loved all animals. he was an artist, love to draw and create stained glass and and wood pieces. He was an avid adventurer, desert rat, and loved yard sales.
Survivors include his wife Margaret in Comanche; a son and two daughters of Terre Haute, Indiana; Kenneth Eugene Goetz, Susan Kay Cottrell, and Terri Lynn Hammond; a daughter Kathy Ann Troost of Snohomish, Washington; two step sons Kip Wayne Allen and Kary Ray Allen from Arizona; a step daughter Kandi Marie Harrington of Virginia; a brother Kenneth Wayne Goetz of Lake Montezuma, Arizona; 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
