Johannes Friedrich George Goetz

According to Mary Sue Thompson/Goetz May, the siblings were visiting Goldie who had Parkinson’s disease.

Johannes Friedrich George Goetz (JFGGoetz) (b 27 Feb 1864-d 6 Apr 1938) Born in Wisch, Schwabstedt, Husum, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany to Johann Hinrich Goetz (b 1835-d 1879) and Catharina Christina Magdalena Matthiessen. He immigrated to the United States on 7 Oct 1885 to Chicago, Westphalia, IL. He lived in Chicago for a few years then moved to Fontanet, Indiana where he worked in the coal mines. He moved to Terre Haute, IN around 1912. He lost his left leg on 7 Nov 1921 in a mining accident near Tecumseh, Indiana.

Johannes married Mary Alice Gilkerson (b 5 Mar 1872-d 29 Apr 1948) on 21 Sept 1888 in Terre Haute, IN. She was the daughter of James Gilkerson (b 1821- d 1874) and Serelda Manley Hornaday (b 1834- 1880). JFGGoetz owned a grocery store on the corner of 19th Street and Maple Avenue.
